It all started 20 years ago when we opened a very first SMART repair centre for private customers.  We did not expect that companies would capture all our workshop capacity. Companies were looking to lower repair costs and for advise.

We had to check cars and advise the best way to bring the car within the leasing specs, we created a Comparison Report.  We made status reports and compared the cost between repairing and not repairing when returning the car to the leasing company. 

Companies came to us for more advice; how to avoid damages? We proposed to do regular car checks together with the drivers.  Drivers started to understand the norm and the consequences of damages. They adapted their driving style.

Today a whole new story starts, our lifestyle is changing. Today, when we go shopping in supermarkets, we make our bill ourselves. A couple of years ago we could not believe this would happen.

Today drivers can check their car themselves, by doing so drivers would see the impact of their driving style instantly. Organising such self-checks on regular basis would have a big positive impact on the state of the car at the end of the hiring contract.  Fleet managers would have the right info to take good decisions at any moment of the life cycle of the car.
